Adjunct Professor

Hideaki Imamura

After graduating from U. of Tokyo, he joined Mitsubishi Corporation and worked as a B2B marketer for 10 years, during which 5 years were spent in China as a PM for infrastructure projects.
He earned an MBA from Stanford University.
Joined Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and worked as a management consultant for almost 20 years in Tokyo, Shanghai and Nagoya, mainly in such sectors as industrial goods, energy, environment, healthcare, IT and trading and in such areas as business strategy, new business development, reorganization/restructuring, M&A, HRM and social impact. He also served executive positions at BCG such as Sr. Partner & MD, Shanghai Office Head, Administrator of Japan System, Rep. Director of Mid-West Japan, and People Team Chair of Asia-Pac Region.
With a consistent interest in developing people, he started part-time teaching in his late thirties, switched to a full-time position in his fifties and is now in his ninth year as a professor. He teaches strategy, marketing, leadership, diagnosis/transformation of organizations at National Shinshu University in Nagano and Waseda Business School in Tokyo. A total of about 100 graduate students have learnt at his seminars so far. Besides teaching, he has served concurrently as advisor for over 10 institutions in a variety of types e.g. global conglomerates, local SMEs, ventures, NGOs, and municipal enterprises.
