Norishige (Noly) Morimoto
Norishige (Noly) Morimoto graduated Keio University and joined IBM Yamato Laboratory in 1987 as a hardware engineer. Later, he received a Master of Science in Electronic Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and worked at MIT Media Lab as a researcher. In 1995, he returned to Japan and joined IBM Research-Tokyo. In 2004, he moved to IBM Business Consulting Services (IBCS) as a managing consultant. After return to research, he was working at IBM Watson Research Center in NY. In 2009, he was appointed to Director of IBM Research-Tokyo and in 2015, he was appointed to VP & CTO in IBM Asia Pacific stationed in Singapore. In 2017, he returned to Japan and appointed as VP of IBM Research & Development in Japan, in 2020 he was appointed as Chief Technology Officer and Vice President, IBM Research & Development – Japan. Noly has more than 20 patents in digital watermarking and copyright protection and several publications in the area of innovation management.
